Master artist and storyteller David Kirk is hailed as one of today’s most innovative and exciting creators of books, toys, and products for children. Before his remarkable success in the world of children’s publishing, Kirk was the fouder and designer of two toy companies, Ovicular Toyworks and Hoobert Toys. His bright, hand-painted wooden toys (including multi-colored robots inspired by his boyhood collection) have been sold around the world and are, together with his paintings and handcrafted furniture, treasured by collectors and featured in books, art galleries, and museums.

In 1996, David Kirk and Nicholas Callaway co-founded Callaway & Kirk Company, which creates and produces original children’s characters and stories for all media.

David Kirk lives in the Finger Lakes region of New York with his wife, Kathy, and his daughters, Violet, Primrose, and Wisteria.
